Meet Anton ...
Anton grew up in a small University town called Bloemfontein, in the centre of South Africa. He studied Human
Movement Science at the Free State University obtaining his B.A Human Movement Science Degree and B.A.
Honors (Psychology) Degree in 1996. Anton believes in continuing education and makes a point of attending
seminars across the globe, and researching other coach and athletes' theories.
As a child, Anton excelled as a natural born runner, competing for his State from the early age of 8. During his
High School days he was introduced to the sport of Duathlon where he managed to make the South African Junior
Duathlon Team and represent his Country for the first time finishing 4th at the World Duathlon Championships in
the USA in 1992. It wasn't until his University days, when he employed a Swim Coach and decided to take
Triathlon more seriously. Since then, he has competed in New Zealand, Australia, Italy, Germany, France,
Namibia, Mauritius, Zimbabwe, in both Duathlon and Triathlon, and has now returned to the USA to further his
education and experience as an athlete, and a coach.
In October 2004, Anton competed in the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii, after qualifying at the
Florida Half Ironman, held at Disney World, Orlando, in May 2004.
